Cheney expressed his excitement at being nominated for the Republican vice-presidential nominee. Cheney said he is looking forward working with a leader who can work together with people of different political views and with the same goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. At 13 years old, he left the state of Nebraska. old, he moved together with family members from Nebraska to Casper within the Western part of Wyoming in Wyoming, where his father was the director of the local district of soil conservation for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
