April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking guitar and piano lessons at age seven. Her interest in songwriting was awakened. April's very first song was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. She spent a lot of the time of 14 writing songs and practicing the piano. She began writing alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA shortly after. April began also to incorporate different topics related to some of her classmates who struggle with issues such as peer pressure disabilities and even teenage suicide as depicted in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and works for popular clean beauty company Ilia. She has a disability that is a component of her persona, however it's not all of the picture. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't hide her disability but doesn't focus solely on the issue. The point? that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and that we're much more than our physical selves. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance will define my character. It's not my intention to have an impact on disabilities because I've got so much more to offer." It doesn't impact my daily life. I still do all my normal activities and I've adapted to my disabilities. Since it's a part of who I am, it's something that's worthy of talking about. Lockhart, a real motivation for self-acceptance generally, is on a long road to reach it. However, she admits to going through phases of insecurity with her body and feeling uncomfortable wearing some clothing types which exposed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post pictures of herself in these outfits on social media with pride. To her, self-love was a long trip. This is, however, the case with anyone who has insecurities. It is essential to be surrounded by people who can really see the person you are.
